I’m giving you a choice: either put on these glasses or start eatin’ that trash can.

They Live is a horrible, horrible movie.  And with the exception of a few “memorable” lines of dialogue (“I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubblegum.”)  it has no redeeming value.  AND it also has this: THE LONGEST, MOST POINTLESS FIGHT SCENE EVER. But I guess when you cast a pro-wrestler, you write something like this into the script.  Enjoy… or don’t…

in 1989, i once asked Keith David where he had purchased those glasses – he proceeded to knee my groin into the following Sunday …of 1991.

i never asked Keith David for anything after that.

The only thing scarier than Keith David is… creeper Keith David. What movie am I thinking of when he’s eyeing up some innocent WOAHman? I took a look at his imdb page and… HOLY SH*T, DOES THIS GUY LOVE TO WORK: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0202966/

That movie was full of excellent one liners and I for one enjoyed that absolutely ridiculous fight scene. Especially the false endings. I mean, you keep thinking “Finally, it’s over!” and then they keep fighting. I love that Carpenter had the balls to troll his audience like that. It became hilarious after a while.

I don’t see how you could describe it as “horrible” unless you were expecting something completely different from the guy who brought you Big Trouble in Little China.
