BONEY M._sometimes I just need some
June 16, 2010
If you held a gun to my head and demanded I tell you my favorite disco group I wouldn’t hesitate to answer Boney M. There’s something about their sound, their lyrics, and the strangeness of it all that I often need to revisit. Sometimes I’m struck by how well I would’ve fit in the late ’70s. It’s too bad I missed all the fun.

Love for Sale
To start, I present to you their classic Rasputin…. the story of Russia’s Favorite Love Machine:
And this one popped up on Pandora today. He Was a Steppenwolf. The first I’d heard it. Love it. Prompted today’s post. Enjoy:

this reminds me of one of my former bosses. 😀 he was like… 33 or smth. And me and one of my colleagues… let’s just say we used to call him …. dad. : )) Of course, he had no idea he was a dad. He would have probably killed us, I guess. 😀 Such a great person. Our daddy cool. 🙂 And we had a mom, too: his deputy. 😀 A large and nice family. Oh well. Nuff said. ; )
there’s so much I love about the video you shared. I particularly love the lady in the red/orange jacket who seems BORED OUT OF HER MIND. Watch for her, she rarely even looks at the stage. Other lovable highlights: the palm trees on the sides of the stage. probably fake. And the dancing. I could probably dance that good (bad?) If you wish you were alive in the ’80s I wish I were alive in the ’70s. LOOK AT THE CLUB. I wish I was there. I want to talk to those people in the crowd. I want to be one of those persons in the crowd!
I forget the auhtor, but I really like the Eat This, Not That series. It’s a wake up call for how many calories really are in a lot of restaurant dishes. Other than that, I guess the eat less, more more cliche has worked the best for me. It’s mostly about attitude and persistence anyway.
Being a new mom that’s back into the college scene again after just hanivg a baby, I joined the challenge so that 1. I could get my body back into shape and 2. build a sense of comaraderie with the other students and faculty members who are participating as well. Like the guy says, it’s so great to just get your heart rate up everyday and breathe the fresh Portland air
Hello Daniel and William!I just wanted to ecnruoage you in all that you are doing. Your journey on Australian Story was deeply moving and very inspiring. The book is wonderful and, thanks to you, I have now also linked in with BOS Australia. I’m trying to forward your emails to anyone I can think of in the hope that you will (continue to) achieve amazing things for these magnificent creatures. It is tragic to think that this beautiful creature is being slowly being wiped out (largely) so that we can keep eating chocolate. Keep up this wonderful work!Julia
After study a few of the blogs inside your westibe now, and that i really like your own approach to running a blog. I bookmarked it in order to my save web site listing and will probably be looking at once again quickly. Please check out my web site because properly as well as let me know what you think.
and at some point we were hanging around. and the conversation went pretty much like this:
colleague: i haven’t finished my work. so i guess dad won’t let me go to classes today.
me: well… you know mom and dad… they think that school is not that useful to us 😀
colleague: but i really want to go to school today !!!
me: i don’t think you can sneak away, especially when there’s so much to do around
all that while…
… some lady was walking behind us. and she was like… totally OUTRAGED. : ))) i think she went home and said: i won’t be that kind of parent those girls were talking about!!! my kids will go to school!!! i will let my kids go to school!!! what a distorted parent! poor girls! : )))
