So that’s what North Korea looks like at night…
This is a satellite image of both North and South Korea at night. North Korea cannot afford to light it’s cities at night (nor would it have the necessary infrastructure if it could.) But it has nuclear weapons. North Korea is many things… but a developed nation it is not. And that is what makes that country, both it’s insane leadership and loyal-to-the-death slave citizens, so very dangerous. I once had a friend from South Korea and he’d tell me about serving in the South Korean army (all citizens are required), about staring out across the 38th parallel at the enemy (the North looks at those of the South as subhuman), and about raising a family, his wife and son, in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. He would tell me how often, even while studying in America, he would lay awake in bed, unable to sleep… gripped by fear…knowing the North has nuclear weapons. It’s only a matter of time, he’d say. It’s only a matter of time.
This horror show is in our future, and is so ghastly that our own darling leaders dare not face it and can only peep through their fingers at what is coming. – Christopher Hitchens
I found a good article while searching for that image, read it here.
